I am thrilled and honored to be selected as the next principal of Vickery Creek Elementary School. I have lived in the Vickery community for the past 11 years with my husband and our two children. Both of my children proudly completed their entire elementary education here at VCE. This will be my 19th year in education. I began my career in education as a long-term substitute in Florida. After getting certified, I taught Language Arts at both the middle school and high school levels before becoming a Reading Coach and then a District Literacy Specialist. In Forsyth County, I worked at South Forsyth High School as an Assistant Administrator before coming to Vickery Creek Middle School as an Assistant Principal in 2017.
The mission of Vickery Creek Elementary is to ignite the joy of learning and inspire leaders. I believe we do this by continuing to foster our community to remain safe, connected, and thriving. I look forward to learning and leading with you all.

I am excited to begin another wonderful year as an Assistant Principal at Vickery Creek Elementary! It is a privilege to serve this incredible school community and partner with our students, staff, and families each day. I began my career in 2007 as an Interrelated Special Education Teacher before becoming a School Counselor in 2013 and an Assistant Principal in 2021. Building strong relationships and supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every child continue to be the most rewarding parts of my work.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and my master’s and specialist degrees in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama. I also earned my Tier 1 and Tier 2 Leadership certifications through the University of West Georgia. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, making memories with my nieces, staying active, and playing pickleball. I am grateful to be part of the Vickery Creek community, where we ignite the joy of learning and inspire leaders every day.

Hello! I’m Jessica Chambless (formerly Howington), and I am thrilled to begin another year as a Viking! It is truly a blessing to serve this community, and I look forward to partnering with our students and families throughout the school year.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and later completed my Master’s and Specialist degrees in Curriculum and Instruction. I hold a Tier I Educational Leadership Certification, as well as endorsements in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Dyslexia.
Education has always been my passion, but when I’m not at school, you can find me spending time with my husband, Neal, and our toy poodle, Dixie. I love traveling, being outdoors, playing tennis, and enjoying the simple moments that bring family and friends together!
At Vickery Creek, we are more than a school. We are a community. As one of your Assistant Principals, my purpose is to lead with heart, create a sense of belonging for all, and celebrate the ordinary and extraordinary moments that make each child’s educational journey unique. Together with our teachers and families, I am committed to igniting the joy of learning, inspiring leaders, and ensuring every Viking feels known, valued, challenged, and empowered to thrive. Hello Vikings!
I am incredibly honored and excited to be a part of the Viking family as the new Assistant Administrator. I am dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
My career has spanned several years in Forsyth County Schools serving as a classroom teacher for first, fourth, and fifth grades and special education teacher supporting K-5. Most recently, I have been an instructional coach and provided interim administrative support. I hold a master’s degree in special education from Kennesaw State University and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Berry College. I earned my tier 1 leadership certification and hold multiple endorsements, including ESOL, gifted, math, teacher support, and coaching. The dyslexia endorsement is my next educational adventure this year.
Outside of school, I stay busy with the things I love most. You can often find me spending time with my husband Matt and daughter Rylee. We enjoy traveling to explore new places. I have a passion for softball and spend much of my free time on the softball field coaching; I currently serve as an assistant coach for a 12U travel team. When I am looking for a bit of quiet time, I truly enjoy solving puzzles and reading a great book. I believe that these hobbies keep me energized and ready to bring my best self to our school community every day.
I am absolutely thrilled to join the Vickery Creek community and begin this new chapter with all of you. Having served in various leadership capacities—such as a member of the county induction council—I have seen firsthand the power of a shared vision and intentional relationships. I am eager to bring my passion for student success and teacher growth to the Vikings and look forward to collaborating with our families and staff to maintain the vibrant culture that makes Vickery Creek so special. My door is always open, and I can't wait to get to know each of you as we work together to support our learners! Go Vikings!
